01Pigmentation-Led Care
Uneven tone and post-inflammatory marks, assessed and staged before anything resurfacing.
INCLUSIVE AESTHETICS · ALL SKIN TONES
ASSESSED AT CONSULTATION
Considered skin treatment for Asian, Black, brown and mixed-heritage skin, planned around how melanin-rich skin actually responds rather than around a standard protocol.

TREATMENT OPTIONS
For melanin-rich skin, most plans start with skin quality and pigment control, not with volume. These are the routes that most often come first.
01Uneven tone and post-inflammatory marks, assessed and staged before anything resurfacing.
02Selected peels at a depth and interval planned around your skin tone.
03Texture and selected scarring, with pigment risk planned for in advance.
Assessment first, always — the plan follows the skin, not the other way round.

REVIEW
Skin tone informs how a treatment is selected, prepared and staged. It is not, in itself, a reason you cannot be treated.

“So happy with my treatment. Jade was lovely and explained everything in detail. She made me feel really comfortable. The treatment room was lovely clean and easy to find. I couldn’t fault the experience and would definitely rebook with Jade.”

IMMEDIATELY AFTER
Redness, warmth or tightness are common, and usually settle over the first day or two.
FIRST WEEK
Dryness, flaking or sensitivity can appear depending on what was done. Pigment can look darker before it fades as the skin renews.
DURING RECOVERY
Avoid picking, scrubbing or introducing new actives. Barrier support and daily broad-spectrum SPF matter more than anything else at this stage.
ONGOING
Pigment response is reviewed at follow-up. Further treatment is planned around how your skin actually behaved.
Recovery differs by treatment and by individual skin response — this is the range we plan for, not a promise.
MORE EVEN TONE
Selected protocols may help improve the appearance of uneven tone and post-inflammatory pigmentation.
SMOOTHER TEXTURE
Supports refinement of rough or uneven surface texture, at a depth planned for your skin.
CLEARER-LOOKING SKIN
Certain treatments may support the appearance of congestion and post-acne marks.
A SETTLED BARRIER
Preparing and supporting the skin barrier before and after treatment is part of the plan.
HONEST PLANNING
Depths, intervals and combinations chosen to reduce — not ignore — pigment risk.
CONTINUITY
The same clinician reviews your progress, so the plan responds to your skin rather than restarting each time.
Melanin-rich skin is not more fragile, but it does respond differently to controlled injury. Those differences are the reason for the caution below, not a reason to avoid treatment.
Your individual risk profile is discussed at consultation, and treatment can be declined where the risk is not worth the likely benefit.

MAY NOT BE SUITABLE IF
These are assessed at consultation rather than treated as automatic exclusions. Where the risk is genuinely not worth taking, we will say so and suggest what to do instead.

QUESTIONS
Yes. Melanin-rich skin is part of everyday practice at the clinic rather than a special case, and treatment is planned around how that skin responds.
No. Skin tone informs how a treatment is selected, prepared and staged — it does not automatically exclude you. Individual history, such as a previous pigment response or a tendency to raised scarring, is what is assessed.
Darkening of the skin after inflammation or injury, including after a peel or microneedling. It is a recognised risk in melanin-rich skin, which is why depth and staging are planned conservatively and reviewed between sessions.
Often pigmentation-led skincare and gentler resurfacing, with peels and microneedling selected at an appropriate depth. Injectable treatments are considered too where they are the right answer, but they are rarely where a skin-quality plan starts.
That depends on the concern and how your skin responds. Because pigment response is reviewed between stages, a plan is confirmed progressively rather than promised in full at the first appointment.
